How does it feel?
Shared by Dr. Mohammed al-Arabi
How does it feel to sleep on a bed?
To wake up, wash your face in a sink?
To open your closet and ponder which clean, nice outfit I will wear today?
To make yourself a cup of coffee without any struggle?
To drink cold water?
How does it feel to turn the lights on, and then off, as you please?
Or plug in your phone whenever you need to charge it?
To have internet all the time?
To experience the comfort of home, its air, and its peace?
How does it feel to see yourself looking good and refreshed in the mirror?
To laugh with your family at the dining table?
Or to simply go out and buy something you crave?
How does it feel to close the door of your room because you're feeling down?
Or to sit out on a balcony?
How does it feel to wash dishes in plenty of water with a nice scent?
Oh, and to use a washing machine?
How does it feel to have your own space?
To pray alone in an empty space?
To walk down pleasant streets?
How does it feel to head out for work?
To take the train?
To be employed?
How does it feel to meet with friends in your favorite spot?
How does it feel to hear a song you like while driving?
Or to go to the beach because you miss it?
How does it feel to miss someone, and be able to see them, without distances or graves between you?
To see your family and friends every day?
Tell me again, please... how is the feeling of home!
How does it feel? How does it feel to go up and down the stairs?
To move between rooms! To shower under a proper showerhead!
Oh, I remembered!
How does clean, fresh water feels?
Soap and shampoo?
All these are blessings we took for granted... details we’ve been missing and longing for these past ten months.
Can we return?
Will we ever experience them again?
